Is freshers/orientation week also for postgrads?

What is a suitable date for a postgrad to arrive in St Andrews?

Cheers.

Most certainly! That's why it's being termed 'Orientation' rather than 'Freshers' Week', because most of the events will be suitable for postgrads as well as undergrads, and there's a special wine and cheese evening for postgrads upstairs in the Association building, from 9 PM on Saturday 24 September.

Come when you like, but don't make it too late, else you might miss out on everything.

Do postgrads have to go to matriculation or is that only for undergrads?

Yes, if you're a PhD student you'll get you form from your supervisor; then you only have to hand it in to the building on North Street, what ever the general office thing is called.

It is great turning up at your supervisor's office them seeing you before all the queues of undergrads that have been sitting waiting for hours.

It's great to avoid all those queues in Younger Hall as well!

Oh and here's another question - do students (postgrads and undergrads) have to matriculate on a specific day, or can we just go on any of the three?

I think you can just hand your form in to registry any day so long as it's within the first week or so of starting back. It might be different if you're a new postgrad rather than a returning student though...I seem to remember postgrads who needed to go to Younger Hall were usually asked to matriculate on the saturday morning, although they wouldn't turn you away if you turned up on an earlier day. But Saturday tends to be far quieter and you avoid the queues that way.

I'm arriving this Saturday and praying to God it's not too early. I'm an international MLitt student...who also has no clue who her roommates are. Is anyone else in this position??
