The tiling job in the men's bathroom of the Union bar. It's something of a pet peeve of mine because I know how to tile.

A blind monkey could have done a better job.

I've probably said this before - but people who just saunter (not run) across a busy road (not at a zebra crossing), making you slow down. I'm a car, it's a road, it's my right of way. Damnit.

Fear not, fellow baseball fan, the World Baseball Classic is coming in March and hosts teams from around the globe!

Also, it's American teams, but, like football, players come from around the world.

Another thing that gets me is when people don't know the difference between "irony" and "sarcasm". For instance, my calling Fozzy Bear a "fellow baseball fan" was ironic, but not sarcastic.

However, the Bank of Scotland Scottish Premier League has players who are not employees of the Bank of Scotland. What's with that?

To be fair, most of the players in the Scottish Premier League would be better working in a bank than they are at playing football.

Since when did the union have a bathroom? I've only ever seen lavatories and urinals in there. (I hear there's a shower, but I've never heard mention of a bath).

Why some annoying furniture store always advertises "These savings MUST end Monday 8pm" just to have a new promotion on the same things starting the next day. surely that must be against the law.

This confuses me - outside my room I have the "Bathroom". Next door is the "Toilets". Due to the frequent colloquialism of 'bathroom' to mean 'toilet(s)', it confuses me for a second, which is okay, because I'm being an idiot. However, the "Bathroom" has only showers, and THAT is what pisses me off. Grrr...!

Oh yeah, and people who can't accept that rules should allow flexibility - I mean things like rejecting a student's PhD thesis because they'd used a slightly different word in the title to the one they 'should' have.

The "guest suite" used to have a bathroom. With a bath!

Far too many things annoy me...and I'm in a foul mood today...but the top things at the moment are:

- the word limit for PhD theses.
- the fact PhD extension fees have almost tripled since I started.
- the stupid timetabling of the trains from Leuchars.

Not quite true, Cuba are playing in it for certain (having just been given permission) and I believe there may be teams from japan as well.

The world series is called that because it was first sponsored by the newspaper The World - even i know that and I'm neither a baseball fan nor an american...

I think we have a misunderstanding...

World Baseball Classic: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/wbc/index.jsp

World Series: Championship game between AL Champion and NL Champion (ergo always an American MLB team).

I'm neither American nor a baseball fan either, but it is astonishing just how often that particular false claim is made - and often in just such an exasperated way.
