Infuriating Commercials

Re: The commercials we know and love thread, I'd like to start the opposite.

I can't stand the new Asda commercials. Children's choirs are only enjoyable to parents whose parents are singing, Christmas carollers and priest conductors. Not me.

Oh and me and my flatmates have a consensus on the Marks and Spencer ads - we hate them because they make us so hungry so theres nothing we can do about it since we dont have an M&S here.

Seconded. Haven't figured out how the 'free rat with every quote' gimmick is supposed to improve business, unless people want to burn the things.

Sounds like an idea, actually.
If Jack Bauer was put in a room with Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler and Nina Myers and handed a gun with two bullets, he'd shoot Nina twice.

That cheesy Cadbury's one with the boy giving chocolate to a girl ... just like his parents did.

Anything involving a motorised easy-access chair. And debt management.

The L'oreal adverts, especially the Andie Macdowell one. She should be able to act at least a little by now.

I hate the M&S ads because of that really annoying voice. "Lah lah lah, if we talk really slowly in this voice, it'll make people want to buy our stuff." Shut up!

DFS "Double your discount" ads, and the various variants of, have annoyed me for years. As do/did most furniture store adverts, for that matter.

The Marks and Spencer adds because they seem to want to sexualise food. A roast chicken should not be made to sound like sex on a plate.

Claims Direct, National Accident Helpline etc etc. Turn on the tv during the day and you get a constant stream of ads where idiots say how they tripped over their own feet and successfully sued someone for ten grand. The best (or worst?) one is where they have some guy saying "I was carrying a bucket of hot tar on a building site and I fell over. I successfully sued for... etc." Hate to sound too 'Daily Mail', but this is one of the things that's wrong with this country. End of rant

The 'Go East' advert - the song sounds so wrong, I remember when it was to 'Oo Aaar, it's Ambrosia' as Yorkshire farmers marched proudly over the hills . . .

Mazda adverts, I mean really.

The almost offensive sexual slurs that are diamond car insurance ads.

"Calm down dear, it's only a commercial"

Even if it weren't Michael Winner, they'd still be really annoying. As it is, they've just squared the annoyingness already there.

Also Herbal Essences ads.

I really like the honda advert! (I'm clearly a nerd), but I HATE Confused.com. It looks like the entire advert was created in someone's garage using Microsoft WordArt

No, that would be Devon farmers, hence the catchline "Devon knows it tastes so good"

God, I love Ambrosia
