Its best to get there for sunrise...so try to be there by 5am. Some people come later though, but the point is to run into the sea at sunrise

Earlier than that I'd say. Stay up all night, go about 3am, go to bed after.

Also, remember if you're in hall that you'll have to have a freezing cold shower- so if you know someone in a flat with hot water, beg them to let you use it.

Alternatively, get so disgustingly drunk that even a cold shower becomes a pleasurably hilarious experience.

after a dip in the north sea even a cold shower will feel warm to you anyway, so having to have a cold shower wouldnt be a problem. :P

Hot water is only on between certain hours in most halls.

even tho there is 24 hour hot water, be wary of a colder shower than normal!

Yes but people often go in long before sunrise. Don't forget that a lot of people will have been there all night and will be getting impatient...

We read that sunrise was at 4.12am. Can anyone shed any light or clear up the sunny situation?

Monday

Sunrise 05:28 (BST)
Sunset 20:49 (BST)

I think around 0430 would be a good time to mosey on over.

Remember - it gets really light before sunrise and most people go in before the official time. I suggest 3AM (this being my fourth dip)
