Oh my Lord.

St Andrews, home of golf, students and lunatic shops.

I'll have a cradle of filth CD and a gold leaf belt buckle please. Come on?! This has to be a wind-up.

Yes it's all my fault. My attitude is going to spread through to shop owners everywhere and they'll have a big conference and agree that because I'm doubtful about the opening of a shop that sells belt-buckles and mosh-pit CD's that they should never open a shop in St Andrews.

Why do I get the feeling that this just isn't legit?

Is there a website or something for this place?

Sorry if I'm wrong, but I'd just like to find out more.

There was defo a Phones4u "coming soon" stand outside BESS on Saturday... and the only vacant shop that springs to mind will be Semi-Chem.

what do you expect when you ask for advice for stuff and people give you honest answers - kid gloves? I'm afraid that simply isn't guaranteed on "the sinner".

Whilst the answer is honest, and maybe a touch brash, there is a point to be heard here, and I think that the point is what I said above.

Whilst I do not agree that we don't necessarily need a shop selling cheap belt buckles, shoes, etc, I do think that we need the shops and their proprietors to be as open with their prospective clientele as possible, and if this means coming onto "the sinner" and risking some open and honest answers, then, I suppose, so be it.

I would like good quality, but not ridiculously (jack wills) priced clothing. Personally, I have no need for belt buckles, but some nice tan leather belts would be great!

Cheap (but good quality) leather soled shoes would be good too - they are a nightmare to find here and the ones you do find are poorly fitting so you can't buy them).

Thanks for asking.

We have done our market research with this town and we know who we are aiming at in the main.

Are there any other belt/buckles/shoes/cap shops in town right now? If so what materials are they using etc etc?

Is it just me or do those two sentences strike you as contradictory?

i work in town and a few people have come in and asked whether we sold belt buckles- we don't so the potential costumors left disappointed. it strikes me that there might perhaps be a market for this kind of shop.

whats the name of that shop next to alphabet that sells zippos and shit like that- might they be rivalled by some of the stock in SKeleton KeY?

Personally I think this is part of a management practical or something.

It's rather curious that Dirac keeps bumping the thread (please don't do that again, three time is far too much for any one person).

I'd be rather surprised to find this shop on market st at any time.

errrm power metal stuff, emo, metal, metalcore hardcore, punk, you get the idea....

See thats what I need in this town, somewhere that has nice selection of the various rock genres.
Though saying that, won't be here much longer. Would be nice anyway (assuming that this is legit, the seeds of doubt have been planted on this thread).

i know dirac- in fact in many ways we are 'best mates'- and he doesnt do management. also, he is really in to his alternative stuff, so it doesn't surprise me to see him bump the thread.

if you think about it, this kind of shop might appeal to locals as much as students, and in a town dominated by student-amenity stores, there does seem to be some sense in this kind of a shop.

how many locals will buy jack wills kit? maybe not that many- abit ot expensive, and dawsons creekish!

how many will buy belt buckles and similar paraphernalia? i'm willing to bet a reasonable amount.

Agreed 100% I'm sick of having to travel to Edinburgh/Dundee etc every time I want to go music shopping. Of course there's always online, but there you go.
