As one who has already had a refund - I think this happening to us is highly unlikely. Given that the letter you send is just hinting at suing, not actually presenting summons. On top of that, the RBS at least, are giving refunds as "gestures of goodwill" stating taht acceptance of the offered cash would be the end of the matter.

I wouldn't worry too much - send away people!

It occured to me last night, too, that since RBS StA will probably get a fair amount of these emails, closing our accounts would probably represent a significant loss to the branch.

I managed to get one charge back last semester for £30. For some silly reason, I have had another two charges since then and they have so far refused to refund them after I sent a polite letter requesting refunding. Looks like I will have to get more serious.
