Some help required

I know this should probably go in either the Accommodation or Advice boards but I figured I'd get more response in here.

I was wondering if the uni rented out rooms in the self catering halls over summer? I need somewhere to stay in St Andrews for a couple of weeks while I'm up doing dissertation work, and so far haven't found anywhere. My dad is suggesting camping as a last resort but I'd rather not reach that stage... I've asked a couple of friends I know who're staying in town but haven't heard back, and ideally I'd like to come up as early as possible next week.

So, do the uni rent out rooms in self catering halls? If not, can anyone suggest anywhere else I can go that would be cheap, and available for 2 weeks? Maybe the hostel?

The uni do have rooms that they keep for their student staff but whether they'll rent them out to other students, i dunno. You'll just have to ring up DRA and see if they've got anywhere.

New Hall is a hotel over the summer, but I could pretty much guarantee it wouldn't fulfil your criteria of being 'cheap.' It's certainly not for the other 8 months of the year

I meant more Albany Park or Fife Park than DRA or New Hall, but thanks anyway. The hostel has a bed available for some nights but not all.

Albany and Fife Parks are all part of DRA, so it might be worth phoning DRA to find out about rooms.

Yeah, that's why i said DRA - you have to ask the managers there for stuff about fife and albany

The University does let out rooms over the Summer - I rented one out last year.

The halls used over the Summer (I believe) are:

I've decided to just commute from home instead of trying to find somewhere to stay. It'll be much cheaper, but it does mean travelling for 4 hours a day. I don't mind it though.
