so... who's seen it? Opinions? I loved it. Long, Orlando Bloom still wooden, but Johnny Depp rules!

i loved it - SO SO SO funny!!! and yes, orlando bloom's acting hasn't improved too much but he has definately grown up a bit and been to the gym! :-P the only bad thing was that the movie isn't a story to itself, we need to wait for the sequal to see what happens! johnny depp is what makes the film in my opinion, he's amazing :-D

I enjoyed it but like everyone else I feel I've only seen half a film, also anyone else think they tried way too hard to reuninte characters from the previous film. Was hoping for a prieview of 'Worlds End' after the credits but alas it was something else at the end instead. But it was still fun and the action sequences were great, nice to see Keira get some more action.

I annoyingly have to wait another week for my Dad and brother to get back form holiday because Mum wants to go 'as a family' which is nice in theory except we always fall out, Dad and brother won't like the film, Mum will talk through it and everyone will tease me cos they all know I think Johnny Depp is one of the many deifnitions of fine (see my Facebook profile for full list.) So while you all enjoy the film, pity us who are depreived and have to wait!

Watching the first one was a bad enough experience. I'll skip this one, thank you.

VERY VERY MINOR SPOILER BELOW

[s]It shows the cannibal island again and the dog is being worshipped as a god. Major let down, especially compared to the apres credit on X3[/s]

Well, just got back from the cinema - thought the film was pretty good. Better than the first, I'd think, and they left a nice cliffhanger which means I'll have to go and see the third. ;) Worth seeing, I'd say.

What was the apres credit on X3??? The Ian McKellan bit? Or was there more?

I left before the credits of POTC2 but it was over two hours. My opinion, it was okay i suppose, not any where near enough humour too much effects, not enough Deppth.

No It wasnt the chess bit, it was far more major with its implications to the series and as such I wont post the spoiler here. Theres a few copies on Youtube but I don't think Oli will be impressed if I post a link to stuff that's ©Fox. Just search on youtube for something like 'Xmen credit' and you should find a low quality version of it.

edit- choose the clip with the foreign description as t'other is missing the last second or so, also the foreign one has the audiece gasping which I found rather amusing. (I really need to get out more!)

Oh phew, I thought I missed more of the guy with wings -who was barely in the film despite being on lots of publicity for it. But yes I suppose quite a cool little bit.

That film was unbelievable. I was very confused and enjoyed every minute. Could anyone explain in what way Captain Jack Sparrow tricked Elizabeth and Will? I thought that they were all working for the same thing - Jack for the chest for control, Liz for the chest to rescue Will, Will for the compass to free Liz? No?

Also, go to http://askaninja.com for a hilarious review of it. Wrong, but hilarious. Then watch all the other episodes.

Loved it and thought it was clever the way the plot twisted and turned. Cant wait for the next one, sooo many unexplained things happened! Oh and i agree about the little bit at the end, wish i hadnt bothered sitting through all the credits, it wasnt that worth seeing and i was disappointed that it didnt explain the story any further. Overall though, great movie and Depp was fantastic as usual

this movie left me with many bad vibes. It left me with lots of rage, although it wasn't particularly directed at one thing.

But things that annoyed me:
a)the fact that there was no need to split this into two movies. They only managed that by "stalling for time" and just drawing fairly meaningless scene out after scene. I mean, sure, they could be fun, but it felt like the entire movie was made up of force feeding movie-goers the sort of things they liked in the first one, without doing much.

b)the random romantic-interest thing

c)dr. zoidberg et al and eww.

Jesus Christ, this is the most boring film I've seen since King Kong. And that was the most boring film I'd seen since the original Pirates of the Caribbean.

I loved Depp's mincing.

I thought it was really fun! Sure, it wasn't an epic and Bloom's acting was horrendous, but it was a really entertaining watch!
