My favourite band ever.

There are certain similarities to They Might Be Giants, but a lot of differences as well: TDC are much more into grace and style.

How are you planning to check them out? Want recommendations? Would you like a compilation?

TDC fans tend to get a bit evangelical :-D

Same with Giants fans - or, at any rate, me. :) I'm planning to check them out in a general sense; being stuck at my mother's on a dialup connection at present my options are rather limited, since I can't start downloading tracks, but I guess if and when I get hold of a decent broadband connection I'll see what I can do. Would I like a compliation? Rather! How would that work? :D

Oh is that the one where he went electric and pissed everyone off? Sounds cool.

Let me guess, the blues 'comes from in here. When you lost your job, then you got the blues. When you lost your woman, then you got the blues'.

That sort of thing, yes. It is worth getting hold of , if only to see what an insufferable arse the guitarist for Highway 61 Revisited was in those days.

Personally I'll plump for 'The Wurzels'

You haven't lived until you have heard their album 'Never Mind the Bullocks'

I miss having a decent computer, I haven't downloaded anything new in ages.

i used to have a thing for 80's and 90's metal/rock (think iron maiden, guns n' roses, megadeth, dream theater and the like), but recently i've been listening to lots of blues.

B.B.King, rory gallagher, jeff beck, dire straights and, of course, cream.

i genuinely have no idea why my music taste changed so much (and, indeed, so rapidly). this time last year i was at the download festival, moshing along to system and megadeth, but just the other week i was seen to be fox-trotting at a jazz club. wierd, huh?

i also like the david crowder band...

They've got SO many good songs. One Time For All time is pure genius.

I'll have to get that album to listen to it. It's on my 'To get if I see it for around a fiver' list. On the first album there's a few alrightish songs towards the end but overall it's a very skip-worthy album.

I stand by my assertion that they suffer from having all the subtlety of a roh-sham-boh contest.

Anyone know what happened to the band who were based in St Andrews a few years back (2001ish) called Mood Swing Whisky? Their album was great.

Sweet Jesus, I have good taste in music.

I woudn't go that far ;)

However, I agree that Bell Orchestre are amazing, and Boards of Canada are quite good too.
