Step 1: Create new contact on your phone, using a message as the contact's name.
Step 2: Send the business card via Bluetooth (your phone will search for all devices within range)
Step 3: Choose who you send it to, and listen out for a received message.
Step 4: Continue to send lighthearted messages and watch their reaction.
Step 5: Introduce yourself and make a new friend!

Tips:
Works better in busy areas. Better still in places like stations or near mobile phone shops.
Be nice - don't send malicious messages or cause panic or worry!
Try sending funny pictures to help alleviate boredom on a long train journey.

I still don't actually know what Bluetooth is. Should I be embarrassed?

I sent a picture of a Broccoli dog while on a train up from Huddersfield. It found its way to a group of girls on a hen party, and they were laughing like crazy all over the train carriage.

Must take more comedy pictures of animals made out of veg.

Oh - and Bluetooth is a type of wireless communication that works across all sorts of different phones, computers, PDAs, regardless of their manufacturer.

Eg a Nokia phone can "talk" to a Mac computer; a Blackberry PDA can "talk" to an Ericsson mobile etc etc.

You can also get Bluetooth handsfree phone kits that don't need wires, and Bluetooth printers to print wirelessly from your computer.

All clever stuff, and now it can be used for fun too - in fact it seems there's even a name for it!
