List of St Andrews Pubs

Postby lts2 on Tue Aug 15, 2006 11:21 am

Hi, I need to get a list of all the pubs in St Andrews with their actual names. Here is what I have so far...

The Central
The Gin House
The Victoria Cafe
The Raisin
The Lizard
The New Inn
1 Golf Place
Ma Bells
The Cellar Bar
Aikman's
The Whey Pat
Broons
The Red Reiver
The Tudor Inn
Inn on North Street
The Clubhouse
Castle Tavern
The Keys
The Centurion (sp?)
The West Port
Drouthy Neighbours
The Byre Theatre

I am sure there are more (what about pubs outside the centre of town?) And also I probably haven't got the names here exactly right.

Please correct me and add names to the list.

Thank you!

misspelled: Drouthy neebors, the criterion,
broons has changed to be called howies,
no more: the red reiver
And i think you've forgotten:
the union,
the stables,
and maybe some more I can't think of either right now.

There's a reasonably complete list here:

Plus timings for visiting them all!

Westport
Drouthy’s (refurb)

The Criterion's since my time. Where's that? And shame about the Red Reiver... though I think I was only ever in there twice: once for the absinthe and once during an impromptu academic dress pub crawl.

It was Lafferty's. Which was formerly Bert's Bar. Which was formerly The Criterion.

It's what used to be Lafferty's.

Also, if they ever bother to open it again, David Russell Bar.

If you host an event, the bar can be opened for you (worked for us).
Apparently they're not making enough money to justify it staying open - two people buying a couple of cokes doesn't really support the wages of the bar staff.

The Clubhouse is what TPs is now called. It actually changed name when Lenny & Kenny bought it back in 2003ish, but they didn't change the sineage properly, lol.

Hasn't the Castle Tavern closed now?

Funky flunky munky...
So someone asked me "What is it you do?". I thought about it for a minute. Then I thought about it a little more. All the while I probably looked like I was staring in to space, struggling for an answer. And I was. There was only one response I could really give.

"I make sure the shit stays off the fan."

The Castle does still exist. it is just alot brighter and cleaner.

(It might sound like that's a good thing. But I miss the old Castle)
