judevalkis thinks he's being smart by "assuming" that this topic is all about the lesser known practice of deceiving, esp in the case of a gay person going out with a woman to "hide" his sexuality.

i looked it up on dictionary.com

Now, back to the topic of chinwarmers.

When do we get the bearded emoticons for posting in our messages?
I hold an element of surprise

Honestly, it looks more like slightly overgrown stubble than a full-out beard, Oli. How long have you been working at it?

...if you really focus, it'll grow faster. I swear. :)

Ha ha, but really, it doesn't look half bad. And that's not a set up for the "it's ALL bad" joke.

it is clear to me that cain is trying to hide his homophobia by refusing to discuss major issues facing gays today. well, cain, we here at the sinners board will not stand for it. if you want to turn an innocent discussion into a civil rights dispute thats fine by me cain....thats just fine by me. but ill tell you this...you will not be able to ignore gays forever. they are here and they are queer, cain. just you keep that in mind now.

Hands up who else thinks that judevalkis is obviously utterly bewildered?

i think if a homosexual man is aprehensive about coming out of the closet, and so chooses to "date" a woman so that people will not question his sexuality, we should not pass judgement on it. being gay in today's society is very difficult. as a person with many friends in the gay community, i resent this thread and the slew of homophobics who have posted on it.

If this is a wind up, do us a favour and get yourself a sense of humour transplant.

If this isn't a wind-up, still get yourself a sense of humour transplant and crowbar this into your cranium: We're talking about facial hair. Get a grip. I don't think it had even crossed anyone's mind until you brought it up. You resent this thread? Well I resent being tarred with the homophobic brush. You're saying that people shouldn't be judgemental yet you're judging everyone on this thread. How dare you?

I'm confused! So when did having a beard turn into a dispute about homosexuality???? Arrrrrrrrrgh brain can not take such confusion, will only result in brain turning into runny jam.

P.s. Oli m'dear you suit the whole beard thang you got goin' on *winks*

WE!? You're not even a registered user.

As for the homophobia issue, joke or not, can I just try a little experiment, to everyone that has so far participated in this thread, hands up if you're not straight

This is my angry comment about this poll's implication that all straight people are homophobic.

Grr.

Anyway - get your own thread. This is my thread about beards. Let's keep it that way.
Actually - I'm quite chuffed that it is the only thread with a picture of my beard on it, and might possibly be the thread with the most polls.

My decision on beards is based on the experience of a girl in my high school who was dating an older guy, got really really bad stubble rash (it was gross, sort of freak clown meets every dermatologists dream) and then she wore a csarf over her face for about 3 weeks. It was really bad, cos all the teachers had been sent a letter by her mum, the poor woman, having to explain her daughter had been kissing lots. Anyway. it's late. i'm going to pretend to study some more.

Why pretend to study - you know you don't REALLY want to, don't you? Having said that I think I'm off to bed.

Well maybe a quick game of spider solitaire won't hurt?

So we've discussed hairy men, now how about hairy women? And I don't mean beards.

Well, a certain part of the female anatomy can be referred to as 'the beard' you know...
