I didn't know even The Times could publish fallacies and idiocies. I've lost what respect I had for it.

You are kidding, right? The Times, owned (and destroyed) by Rupert Murdoch so that it fits into his global media network publish fallacies and idiocies? It's a News International corporate newsletter parading as a newspaper; only slightly different in attitude to Sky News and Fox News. Those two paragons of journalistic integrity.

I agree that the press should stop assuming that the NUS is the voice of the student body in St Andrews, and hope that the saabs send a few emails to clarify that point.

They're good cars, but surely they don't represent St Andrews either?

(Sorry, nothing personal, you're just the latest person to spell sabb that way, and it's only just struck me why people are doing it.)

The first time one of my posts has been corrected by exnihilo. Now I can count myself as a true sinner.

For those of us outside of St Andrews at the moment could anyone tell us if this proposed NUS protest has materialised at all? Or are they showing themselves to be all talk and no balls once again?

I have seen no signs of them yet but there are a large number of police units about, and they've locked the gates to Salvator's/Younger hall

They're also not letting ANYONE into the new IR/arts building without their matric card. Lots of irrate students not being allowed into tutorials when I was there.

According to the geniuses at Alldays and Bottoms Up, these are too easy to fake, not much of a security measure, eh?

My tutor was 20 minutes late due to forgetting her card and going back for it. Amusing? you bet!

Especially the number of members of staff without cards trying to get in when I left.
