Vandalising South Street (and more generally St. Andrews)

Postby beanie_anne on Tue Oct 31, 2006 2:21 am

Recently I've noticed an increase in destruction all along South Street, and more generally St. Andrews, ususally just after pub closing time.

For instance on Sat night there were wheelie bins knocked over and the Cheesemonger and Sam Thomas' windows were both broken. Tonight two street bins were ripped out of the ground also.

This isn't respectful to the town and its permanent residents. And I actually find it quite detestable.

Well, I can, living on South Street and all, right opposite the cheese mongers and Sam Thomas.

If you can prove who it was and when it occurred then perhaps the boys in blue would be more helpful than a load of Sinners...

I don't think the vandalism is anything new...I lived in South Street for 8 years or so and had my windows smashed a few times. It seems to happen periodically, I wonder if the CCTV ever enables the police to catch anyone for it?

They probably just turned off the CCTV once HRH Prince William left.

CCTV doesn't actually stop or prevent crimes occurring. Given an alert operator and a competent police force it can increase detection and clear-up rates. I rest my case.

who said it was students?

It shouldn't happen at all here. Students aren't children, show just a little bit of maturity, for Christ's sake. There's no excusing it. If you turn into a violent person when you drink then you should not drink, and vandalism is an act of violence. It's not all in good fun either, because someone has to pay for the damage or clean up the mess the obnoxious little cunt in question has caused.

Your mum is so fat that when she goes camping the bears have to hide their food.

The police have already caught the two guys who kicked in the windows. A friend of mine reported them and they were found later with gashes in their legs. Students apparently.
