New Year's Resolutions

Postby Dave the Explosive Newt on Mon Jan 01, 2007 11:31 pm

1. Spend less money.

2. Not strictly for this year, but if I raise a child, don't let it grow up to be a tosser. Preferably call it Jack, unless it is a girl.

3. Something girlfriend related (there was something on this last year but I'm not one to let a bit of a lack of success get me down).

4. Something weight loss related.

5. Try on a tweed suit.

6. Go on some more driving courses.

7. Get in touch with old friends.

8. Learn to cook better

9. Go on a flying course.

10. Start working earlier in the day, thereby leaving the evenings free (for pleasure).

Mmmmmmm, cake.

End the year debt free!

Funky flunky munky...
So someone asked me "What is it you do?". I thought about it for a minute. Then I thought about it a little more. All the while I probably looked like I was staring in to space, struggling for an answer. And I was. There was only one response I could really give.

Last night I vowed to drink less, but I've since decided that I should not listen to that reasoning because I was drunk, and therefore prone to errors in judgement.

I want to stop drinking gallons of coffee.

Meet and marry Richard Armitage.

Get to know my Father properly.

Find some direction (please, dear God).

Read the complete works of Shakespeare without getting distracted.

Do more to help my Grandparents.

Be less critical.

1)really really really work hard to get a good understanding of greek.
2)stop dithering about the future
3)find a part time job.
4)eat less chocolate
5)leave home earlier and walk to my classes as opposed to taking my bike because (once again) i am running late.
6)not spend more than 15 pounds per week.
7)go dancing more often.

on edit:
a friend of mine, reading over my shoulder, insists that I should also put 8)have torrid love affair while travelling through some romantic, exotic place

but i think this friend should put on her own list:
1)read fewer romance novels.

1) Drink far less.
2) Get a decent job.
3) Sort out the car crash that is my love life.
4) Get back in shape.
5) Be better at staying in touch with old friends.
6) Master Hebrew.

I would imagine four of those are pretty achievable. We shall see.

stop forming romantic attachments to any of the following: alcoholics, workoholics, sexaholics, commitment-phobics, peeping toms, megalomaniacs emotional fuckwits, or perverts.

Work harder.
Live for the moment.
Try to stop worrying.
Find love.
Do none of the above.

Just one resolution this year:
Write and submit my thesis.

It's more realistic than last year's.

Don't stop.

What with Pauline dead and Lembit getting his leg over with a cheeky girl, I feel the world has seen enough madness without you ceasing with your superfluous smut.

1) Be more selfish.
2) Be more upright about what I want.
3) Stop moaning and do something about it.
4) Work with more structure so that I learn more and gain a life.

Apparently Gabriella's mother refused to pay a £1.5k bar bill for the four of them (Lembit, cheekys + mother) on new year's eve and there was a bit of a ruckus. See the debates forum for more in-depth discussion.

Tut tut tut, Lembit.

Will, after reading the thread on the debates board, I think you're putting too much thought into whether Lembit has popped Gabriela's cheeky little cherry. The likelihood is yes. Possibly with her Mother watching.

I feel for Sian Lloyd, she was on to a good thing with Mark Cavendish years back, shame that fell through, I remember her in one of Mum's old Hellos, ruddy-faced and radiant.

Apparently, to Sian, (thank you, Wikipedia) Lembit was ' "the most fascinating man I've ever met" and revealed that they enjoy sharing late night baths.'

Fascinating.

My desired new year's resolution is 1920x1200... not sure if I can afford it, though.

I'm liking my current 1680X1950 just now, though would like to drop the 19" and get another samsung 205BW for a full 1680X2100.

This shall all look better however when my new year bargin comes. :D
