I'm here! I'll make it good, I promise. We could talk about, er, favourite fruits? recent medical ailments? private vs state education?

Who are/were King Sinners? How does one achieve such superiority?

How far back does that link go Flare? I started in 2004 and I always remeber The Sinner as being green not beige. Still it is nice to see The Sinner in the way it used to be.

There are still those of us lurking who can remember www.st-adz.co.uk and the sinner being slightly blue!

It is a shame things are going this way - I've had many fun times reading through some of the nonsense on here when I ought to have been working!

As sad as it is this site was my lifeline to the world outwith my room in first year and sort of kept me grounded. I miss its old format. The kings and queens have to return.

I think Prophet Tenebre was the King of Kings, yes? At least by post count, though maybe exnihilo has now overtaken him.

Prophet Tenebrae - now there's a name to conjure with! What ever happened to him?

Does the site contain the words fulsome funbags ;-) And PT was scary scary scary.

Ten graduated in 2005. He lives in Edinburgh and edits an "adult literature" site. I see him a few times a year, and to be honest, The Sinner really died the day he left.

There's a Prophet Tenebrae on the BBC Points of View messageboard (I'd be ashamed at knowing this, but I'm posting on the sodding sinner which is equally as bad, so what's the point?).

People will come back, or join up as new users, when the site stops being a pile of aids.

There was a plan to create an alternative to thesinner, by which I mean, a hoped replacement. It inevitably fell through.

Surely the abject failure of statalk would be lesson enough to the fact that alternatives to The Sinner just don't work.

thesinner.net appears unusually high up in google's search rankings. If we spam a single thread with a large number of St andrews catchphrases/places/relevent phrases we could at least get noticed by some new people.

thats probably due to the inordiante amount of links that get posted here.

it also didn't help that the mods on statalk seemed content to have the message board as their own private plaything, didn't engage with new users, seemed desperate to be noticed by the sinner, and told one noob to "fuck off".

Did you not throw your toys out the pram and run away from this site some months back after a server crash?
Maybe the others did too...

Ah, statalk! the crab! Prophet! such memories...

All quite amusing, really. I lurk mainly now. But since I'm no longer a St Andrews student I think that that's only to be expected. I've got little to contribute now to the daily events of St Andrews but still need my news fix of the old wee town (fifenow.co.uk just somehow doesn't cut it).

As for facebook -meh, internet globalisation gone mad. Buy local, support the Sinner. Since when did I need to write on the 'wall' of any of my old primary school friends.
