Reprographics

The place on North Street - you take them a word file and they print and bind you a dissertation while you wait.

Right?

The bindary next to the old Somerfield just off Tom Morris Drive will bind for you also, but I do not know if they print as well. It costs ~£4 per essay for a shiny plastic covering.

Reprographics can bind your dissertation for you and print it out - the bindery doesn't offer printing as far as I know. Both offer different type of binding though - I know that some departments state which they want.

Don't know if they will print it whilst you wait - however, you'll be waiting a long time if you try to find it on North Street....try The Scores instead.

Thanks for that - helpfully, their website doesn't actually say where they are! Whereabouts on the scores are they?

As for times - if my dissertation is due Friday, should I take it in on Thurs? Or would Friday morning be OK?

St. Katharine's on The Scores, I think.

Yes, reprographics appear to be at the St Katherine's house on the Scores. Basement I think.

I wouldn't take a Word file, personally. I'd turn it into a PDF. (Of course they might not accept that but I'd be very surprised if they don't.)

The reason I say this is that sometimes another computer can print a word-processed document differently from how you expect it to look, but once it's fixed in a PDF file it shouldn't really change from computer to computer.

(And I also don't like the Word format in general. :) )

Just to clarify that, it's not St Katharine's Lodge, which people normally just call St Katharine's, as that's History. I think the reprographics building itself is called St Katharine's West, and is, as Romantic says, near the car park of the New Arts Building.

If you have a Mac you won't need any PDF conversion software. In any application that prints (browser, Word etc.) then just select File, Print and then click the PDF button in the print dialogue box. It will let you save as PDF and do loads of other fancy stuff too. Good old Apple!

Its in the old management building - if you happen to know where that is. There is a big sign outside it (both the building name and reprographics) though if you just want to wander allong the scores.

So few people now will remember where management used to be, I'd wager.

Of course, there's a million different ways to do this for free on Windows and Linux as well...

But as I said on the stairs Malcolm, at least with a Mac you don't have to hunt for / install thirds party applications to do simple things that should be easy.

I'd expect bundled stuff, considering how much you have to pay for a mac.
