Nope. Evidently she has to abide by different rules from the rest of us

TMZ did say that 3 days is the average jail stay for this type of offence.

Edit: It's probably better this way because she won't have enough time locked up to try to cash in on her "ordeal" through interviews, books, etc.

I was hoping a rough trick named Molly would make Paris her bitch over the course of her brief sojourn.

Oh well, here's hoping Lohan replaces her (she was caught driving recklessly and cocaine was found in her car. Woo!).

If it's what people would expect to serve, it's a good thing that she didn't have to suffer any greater sentence. I don't like this girl much, but her fame shouldn't result in a harsher punishment, in some bizarrely exaggerated attempt to make it seem as though she isn't getting special treatment.

Such a pity the same principle apparently doesn't apply in this country, or at least didn't at the time when Jeffrey Archer was unjustly given what was later revealed to be one of the harshest sentences ever handed down in a case of perjury - in a civil case, no less, when people who had provided false alibis for murderers had been given less.

Given that perverting the course of justice - of which Archer was also convicted - carries a possible sentence of life imprisonment, one could equally say that he got off lightly.

Actually it was 'conspiracy to pervert the course of justice', and that conviction was even more absurd considering the man he was supposed to have conspired with was acquitted!

It's interesting to note that the judge who originally sentenced Paris specifically ruled that she could not serve her sentence at home under electronic monitoring.

the original offense (that caused her to have a suspended license) was drunk driving, though, wasn't it? And she got off fairly lightly for that?

I believe it was speeding and driving at night without her lights on, though the stories of Hollywood starlets and their reckless driving may be blurring together.

Nicole Ritchie is to appear before a judge soon for DUI, however.

Well, she first got stopped by the police for DUI in September last year. She had her driving license taken away from her, ordered to take part in an "alcohol education program", put on 36 month probation and fined $1500 (which is far less than what she earns in an evening...). She then oddly (no brain cells I guess) decided to refuse to go to the alcohol education program and drove again- without license in the dark without any lights on at DOUBLE the speed allowed. Which is why the police stopped her car. So she has been caught drunk-driving, driving without a license, violating her probation, refusing to obey a judge's orders, speeding and driving at night without lights on.
I think that's enough to warrant more than like 30 hours in jail!

House arrest is a fucking joke , i mean chilling out in your own home is not a punishment. The punishment should fit the crime, she should be given images of victims of who died as a result of drunk driving clockwork orange style, that would fuck the spoilt bitch up.

Screaming and crying, Paris Hilton was escorted from a courtroom and ordered back to jail Friday after a judge, overruling the county sheriff, said she must serve out her entire 45-day sentence behind bars rather than in her Hollywood Hills home.

"It's not right!" shouted Hilton, who violated her probation in a reckless driving case. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience.

Having recently watched the Stupid Spoiled Whore Playset episode of South Park, I can imagine this very vividly.

Nah, Hilton is a stupid spoiled whore whilst Miss Goody is a just a stupid whore.

I also love the Sheriff's comments "this lady has some severe problems", you're damn right she does!
