Would anyone be interested in a vegetarian/vegan society with bi-monthly potlucks, social gatherings and annual collective recipe book release?

What if someone put some delicious ground beef in one of the pot luck dishes? After all, it's a pot luck, and we all know that anything goes.

Now I don't want to incur everyone's wrath, but I saw this on a poster and found it amusing:
"Save a cow... eat a vegetarian"

...then again, that is only my opinion.

They have to. Otherwise they can't affiliate.

There already is a veggie and vegan soc, though seemingly they seem to have been a little quiet for the past few years. If you're hoping to affiliate, you'll need to contact Jonathan Cooper the Societies Officer (socs@st-andrews.ac.uk), who will then be able to find out if the existing VegeSoc is now defunct or not. If they are, you might be able to take it over, which would include any money they had too. If they do still exist, then either you could join them, or you'll have to have an independent rival society as the Union is unable to affiliate two societies that have such similar aims.

Ahahahahaha For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three. Never was a truer word spoken.

Can I bring prawn cocktail? You can't forget the pescetarians, they are pseudo-lefty-veggies after all.

I can confirm that there is no existing affiliated vegan/vegetarian society. However, there may be funds immediately available for a newly affiliated group.

What happened to them, Jonathan - did they fail to hold an AGM, or submit their accounts, or something? They weren't around all that long, if I remember rightly, but they may have some funds or resources that could be claimed.

Well I am game for restoring it! I am working on getting people interested just now and getting some ideas for events and socials.
What do you advise to get things going again?

I don't eat dairy food because it makes my skin swell, but I really don't get why vegans don't eat it to be honest.

Could a vegan explain to me their objections to milk?
