50 most powerful students in St Andrews - Feb 2008

Postby eagle on Sun Feb 17, 2008 7:30 pm

If everyone lists who they think are the top ten most powerful students in St Andrews at the moment, we should be able to get a fairly representative list of the top fifty most powerful.

There's no NEED to give an explanation, but if you feel it will help, please do.
And note that these lists don't necessarily express an opinion of importance...

If you'd like to discuss any of these lists, please use this thread:

1) Tom d'Ardenne
2) Steve Savage
3) Rich Robinson
4) Jenny Mackay
5) Stacy Lee
6) Olly Mills
7) Dave Haines
8) Ed Barker
9) Royce Hunt
10) Kenny MacDonald

Can't we just sort this out in a fair and logical way, like bear wrestling?

Gosh how exciting, I've never been seventh most powerful anything. Ever.

1. Tom d'Ardenne
2. Rich Robinson
3. Steve Savage
4. Olly Markeson
5. Jenny Mackay
6. Ben Nicholson
7. Olly Mills
8. Ed Barker
9. Royce Hunt
10. Rob Fett

I am of course too modest to include myself in my own list of powerful students...

Duncan Burnside. And Stephen Haraldsen. The man uses the Union as a chair.

So what if Rob Fett was wearing +3 Gauntlets of Power? Would that make him, like, the 4th most powerful? Awesome name too. Please tell me his name is Robert A Fett. That would make my day.

I'd have thought all the student members of Senate would be on the list immediately after the student members of Court. Follow those with the remaining student members of SAB and you've pretty much got all the students with any real "power" or influence.

The SRC and SSC will be changing very soon, and so any influence that the members of those bodies may have will soon come to an end. Unless they get re-elected, of course. Or bumped up the pecking order.

Surely there's a place on this for the St Andrean with the most friends on facebook. The sheer power they could wield by inviting so many people to a single event...

What about folks with humungous academic families? People with massive generational thingamies? (I'm told my great^6-grandfather is still studying in St Andrews...)

Also, some years later:

And so your nominations are? This is about OPINION. Who do YOU think are the ten most important students in St Andrews? Feel free to include people with lots of Facebook friends, or massive academic families

They're ALL students. They all matriculated in September, and are classed by the University, the council and the legal system of England and Scotland as students.
