Count me in. I'd be willing to help campaign too.

On another thread, Marco states that he'll be voting RON first and Derek second. This seems to me a very good position to adopt.

What's the point in voting RON if no decent candiditates are going to jump out of the woodwork? Sure it would be sending a sign but really, the chances are that it would just increase the chances of one of the dicks running of getting in.

If you vote RON first and Derek second, that way hopefully we will get RON and if not we wont have a complete arse of a candidate

I don't know what Marco's thoughts would be on this but if R.O.N. actually won the elections it'd be quite a good sign that maybe he should stand again.

What is the point of a RON campaign? Anyone who votes RON should have either:

1)A personal assurance from another student that they will stand for president if nominations are re-opened.

OR-

2)the desire to stand themselves.

Until this happens the candidates who have ran this time will have to do. Marco is definately a decent bloke, but surely ALL of the other candidates can't be that bad?

Rubbish. A RON vote simply says 'I do not particularly want any of these candidates to win this position'.

You seem to be saying it's better to vote for someone you don't want to win than for 'none of the above'.

Re-opening nominations would hopefully encourage other, better candidates to come forwards. They don't have to declare their interest now, and might even change their minds in the meantime.

dont worry kensson. andrew is a good friend of d-day derek so is simply trying to help him out by dismissing the ron vote as pointless.

At least "d-day" derek isn't making any promises he can't keep. Unlike all the other candiditates who are basing their entire campaign around them.

Not voting at all is a complete waste of everyone's time.

If you don't agree with any of the candidates, then vote to Re-Open the Nominations.

All a student needs to vote RON is a belief that none of the candidates standing are suitable for the position.

Nothing else.

There are a number of reasons why Derek has no policies.

1. He can't think of any because he has no imagination, drive or spirit.

2. He wants continuity - which means he will carry on letting the university raise top-up fees like Rory did and, oh, I believe Derek was also at the Senate meeting where the top-up fees where discussed and did he do anything to stop them? no

3. He doesn't want to be accountable. By not having policies you have nothing to be rated against. If derek gets in (god forbid) then he can sit on his arse all year (which he will do because he wants to be like Rory) and still say he's had a succesful year because he had no policies.

For god's sake everyone wake up will you.

And, the reason Biagi is supporting Derek is so that if Derek gets in Biagi can stand for President next year and say how crap the current President has been. If a candidate with ability (and they all have more than Derek) then it will make it harder for Biagi to illustrate how much better he is compared to the President.

One camp of boneheads is obviously rattled. I never knew that the Senate was so large a committee. How do you know so well what was said or done in meetings? Are you a member?

Slightly unfair poll - what if (shock horror) you weren't going to vote Marco anyway? Why don't we ask:

I think we should take it as read that the majority of Sinner users are pro-Marco.
