So, who won?

Postby Harry Giles on Sat Mar 15, 2008 4:17 am

It's 4am, I've just woken up from a post-drinking unconsciousness, and no-one's told me if I won or not yet and it's not on the STAR website. I'm assuming no news is bad news for me, but: Help!

Those bastards spelled my name wrong! JONathan! No H! I also did my first ever radio interview pished out of my skull. How dignified!

Commiserations to those who didn't win. Congrats to those who did. Considering how close and contested the whole race has been, I think we can all agree that this coming year is going to be a good one for the Association!
Now some people weren't happy about the content of that last post. And we can't have someone not happy. Not on the internet.

I'm sure once the elections officers wake from their well-earned slumber, full details will be published. I'd love to see some stats too, so I can over-analyse them...

I hear Rory nearly beat Cahn...

Looks like I'm the first elections officer to wake up.

I was in charge of the counting for (the contested ones) of societies grants, societies officer, association chair and director of events and services.

Chan was nearly beaten by Rory McLion, yes. That one was Cahn, then Rory, then Molly Uzzell then RON.

I was beaten for Association Chair twice in previous elections, but at least it was a real person who beat me.

Oh, I'll look into exact numbers. I'm only Deputy Senior Elections officer - Steve Savage has all the numbers.

So, I was running uncontested, but my name doesn't appear in the list above or on Star FM. Does that mean i lost to RON? I think i would laugh if that is true...

Now prepare for another year with absolutely no changes except the price of beer going up.

I wouln't say a year of no changes. We've elected a top notch sab team and I think you should be a little less cynical about them. They're a great group of people with heavy experience in different areas, and I imagine they'll have you eating your hat when they're done.

If you care so much about the beer price, why not start campaigning against an increase?

Better start campaigning to Gordon Brown, as he's the one who's just added 55p to a bottle of spirits...

Come on people, where are the figures?

Where are Marco Biagi and David Bean when you need them?

Now there's something I'd never imagined myself saying!

Bean was ill and Marco was running a table, like myself. We were slightly busy.
