At the risk of perpetuating this thread, I think it should be pointed out that The Saint is the original independent student newspaper in St Andrews, and as it's still independent, The Robe should change its tagline.

I don't think so actually - the Saint has increased its quality and performance dramatically in the last couple of years. And there are far fewer mistakes in the recent issues than ever before.

Still a way to go, but they've come along way since 'your day'.

The Students' Association didn't close them down (how could they? The Saint is independent). They merely removed the permission for the Saint to rent space in the Union building, as the Saint didn't adhere to the guidelines set out by the Union.
