How many people have you slept with in the university? Honestly?

Postby crystalclear on Fri Jun 20, 2008 9:08 pm

Wasn't really sure where the right place to ask this question was so thought I would just get it out there on the main board...
I really have always wondered just how much casual sex goes on in St Andrews? I mean, given it is a smaller university than most, I sometimes find it hard to believe that much really goes on... I have just finished first year and my number is 5. I mean, is that more than other people or am I about average?

Come on everybody. How many?

How can I put this... no, I don't think it's average at all! I never managed anything like that (not for want of trying at the time), but perhaps I was just a sexually-repressed young innocent at the time.

I think it largely depends on your social circles, but out of the people who'd tell me that kind of thing, I think the average was perhaps one, the median certainly zero and the record perhaps four.

[hr]

...then again, that is only my opinion.

In my household I think you'd be about on average.

Less than 10, more than 5 :-P But that's over the course of 5 years in St Andrews and includes boyfriends and not just casual sex.

I will say though, asking this on a website might not get your average St Andrean numbers - most of those who're off having sex with each other probably aren't lurking about on the Sinner in their spare time ;-)

Can you blame me?

Postby Jono on Fri Jun 20, 2008 11:19 pm

The university publishes clear grade boundaries for each semester.

less than 5 is a failure.
5 - 7 for a third-rate lover.
7 - 13.5 for 2. genital warts.
3.51-recuring - 16.97352 etc to 94 decimal places is Studly.
Anything above that and you're a thousand dollar whore (surely a first-class liar?)

Bear in mind; the boundaries vary from year to year, so as to account for early onset impotence and general fugly-ness. Also, the awarding of grades at honours is measured against a bell-curve (The head of department's Bell to be precise).

I wouldn't worry though. you're a first year. Strive for a Five!

I disagree with you in principle.
Now some people weren't happy about the content of that last post. And we can't have someone not happy. Not on the internet.

Bear in mind Jono needs to shut up / get aids...

I'm a lowly 3rd. Two thirds of which we wish we weren't students here... Still, judging by the time anything comes to fruition in this terminal, it may be some while....

Kudos?

But would you go without for 3 years to have all 5 at the same time in the 4th?

The crabs. I'm a playa. They see me rollin', they hatin'. So I intentionally don't remember anyone's name to get back at them.

About 3000. Most of them were crippled retarded sheep. Oh you said "people". In that case one, assuming that we are counting rape.

That's quite accurate for me, I got a reasonable 2.1.

Its funny how many St Andrews students end up resiting exams, revisiting notes and books that they thought they were rid of.

This has got to stop, that G&T was a BAD idea, i'm now posting on the sinner, when i really ought to have better things to do.

I would've had 20, but my viva let the truth out.

[hr]

"There is only ever one truth. Things are always black or white, there's no such thing as a shade of grey. If you think that something is a shade of grey it simply means that you don't fully understand the situation. The truth is narrow and the path of the pursuit of truth is similarly narrow."
Also, some years later:

Ugh St. Andrews is not the place to find ***
I had nearly 4 times as much *** my senior or sophmore year of highschool than 2 years at university.
And it has nothing to do with the size. The truth is people at St. Andrews are pretty conservative when it comes to *** relations. Stuff that I would have considerd mundane back home here is considerd wild and scandalas while stuff that would have been considerd that at home is considerd borderline psychotic.
In general at st. andrews "casual ***" consits of some guy or girl meeting at a bar or a party then having drunk *** and regretting it the next day or bragging to their friends. How boring is that?
