The new facebook

TheFacebook.com has just released their site update that they have been promising for the last couple of months.

Personally it looks as if everything is more cluttered and more disorganised that it was before. Especially with the new location of the logout button being hidden and not easily accessible. The other thing I have noticed is that the availability of each page I click on is very bad in that out of ten links that I pressed when using the site four of them gave me a this page contains "jack shit" error.

It looks like the robustness and availability of the website has taken a dramatic turn for the worse.

What do you all think

I don't like the wall having all my news feed entries in it - I want to be able to see the wall as a separate entity. The other changes I don't mind so much, but that's the main thing that bugs me.

Clicked the link and signed in. Nothing different. I am quite confused by this thread.

EDIT: They must have updated since my second sign in. It's all different now. It looks wiiiiiiiiiiide and MySpacey. Since the coming of them sodding applications it is now basically MySpaz. FaceSpace. Or MyBook.

What kinds of things have you found wrong with it? I'll send them a note about it as well

Despite my usual cynicism about most things, I actually like the new facebook. However, never one to be completely content, here are a couple of things that annoy me:

1) Minifeed and wall combined is very annoying.
2) The homepage has a few boxes down the side, but a big lump of whitespace where I'd expect them to put my stalkfeed. I guess this might appear in due course, but it's not there at the moment.

However the best thing:
I don't have to see all your shitty apps.

I e-mailed them about the stuff that annoyed me. like "write something about yourself" under your pic. so this is different to "about me" and "status" wtf??

also the layout looks crap. It was supposed to go live yesterday right? Since it hasn't I assume the reason is that it sucks.

Oh thank god for that button. not a fan of the new fbook AT ALL.

The new wall can still act as a mini-feed or a wall; you just need to click on 'posts by others' to turn it into a wall, and 'posts by ' to turn it into a mini-feed.

I think this new redesign is fantastic; my only gripe is that it seems kind of buggy when it comes to loading profile pages: I occasionally need to refresh my browser for the profile to come up. Interestingly, this only happens in Firefox.

Trust me you don't what to see it at the moment, very buggy.

New thoughts are that this seems a lot like a beta release of the new features and that they want people to identify as many bugs as they can regarding the new look. But as far as I was concerned nothing I saw when told about the new site screamed beta/preview etc and that TheFaceBook have lied to use all in that this is one massive beta launch of the new design and not a slow roll out of the new site.

And this confirms the attention to detail that TheFacebook.com developers have concerning their developments, it just aint their just like their API documentation.
