St Andrews on Facebook?

Postby F.Booker on Fri Sep 19, 2008 2:20 am

Just as Cambridge, Oxford and the University of London, I wish St Andrews also had an application we could add to our profile on Facebook! Please, does anyone have any idea of how we could one??? Thanks in advance.

Once upon a time St Andrews was one of the few UK universities Facebook was open to. Ah, exclusivity. What do these applications do exactly?

Edit: ah, they add a college shield to your profile.

I think the last thing facebook needs is more applications...

But do we have shields? Because if we don't those klingon torpedoes'll probably blow us up. Shields up!

There are currently 3 colleges in St Andrews and they all have their own coat of arms:

I don't know how I studied there for two years already and never knew about these colleges. As a Physics student would I be right in assuming that I am part of United College, or do they just exist and have no function at all besides just being there?

This is how one can do it:

But one would need to have some IT knowledge!

Anyone with an IT brain here???

Cheers...

Part of the point of the Cambridge/Oxford apps is that you can use it to show what colleges you've been for a formal dinner at/visited/etc. Seems a bit useless in St As...

It would be very good if someone had the ability and inclination to develop one.
