CONCEPT: The reason behind my Sinner avatar

Could become quite a weird one......

I suppose a more comedic variation could be 're-enacting my Sinner avatar'

The reason behind mine is easy, it's Delta but amended to include the s, thus Delts.

It was intended to be a more interesting story than one such as yours Delts......

Trust you to try and take the fun out of it ;)

Mine is Farrel, one of the members of the Reform Club in 'Around the World with Willy Fog' :) For obvious reasons.

Well, I was lonely. And pilgrim seemed a better fit than most other things (wanker, mongoose, biscuit, etc etc...)

That's a picture of me doing "The Plughole" in the blue mountains, Australia. It's a cave complex in the Jenolan Caves that resembles the plumbing of a sink. The actual photograph is at the end of a section called the U-bend. This is a 6m long curving tunnel that was just big enough for me to fit through in a kind of superman flying position. Don't be fooled by the light in the picture - that's 100% flash - it was pitch black. I think that comes into the catagory of one of the scariest things I've ever done. Not knowing that if there is a way out of a tiny confined space does funny things to my head, and I should imagine also to most people's. Although - abseiling into the cave was pretty hairy too. I only recently learned that most people, when abseiling, don't just use their own strength and the friction of their bum to support them. :S

Mine is the thumbnail of a fb profile picture a while ago when I was on East Sands with my family. I thought I'd been terribly clever and that it would update automatically when I change my profile pic but alas, no.

I found this neat sculpture (origins from a region of Pakistan) at the Louvre's wing dedicated to Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. Needles to say this area of the museum attracts far less visitors than the Mona Lisa, and is kind of hard to get to in the first place. The anthropologist in me heard it calling...

Because when I became a sinner yonks ago I didn't come up with a decent nickname in the two minutes it took to register, so I looked up, and there on my shelf was a bottle of Hennessy Cognac, next to a bottle of absinthe (two gifts, I'm not a goth and I don't usually drink spirits neat). This became more relevant when I visited Kinsale in Ireland and toured the nice castle the Hennessys' occupied in the 18th century before they had all left for their estates in France. Rather boring really.

Phoenix Wright as provided by VG Cats. Firstly because I freaking love VG Cats. Secondly, because most anything I say or do is a matter for the courts!

Also, it kind of looks like me. Although so do most cartoons involving a white guy with stupid brown hair.
Now some people weren't happy about the content of that last post. And we can't have someone not happy. Not on the internet.

Correction - some of the Ents.....

Secondly, my avator is from a trip to Chester Zoo where I saw the meerkat, which weirdly reminded me of a relative. Also think it looks like the picture of content, sat just the thickness of some glass away from gawping faces.

Thirdly - good effort to whoever moved this thread away from the calendar board where I started it....

Whoah! Censorship much?

As for mine... no avatar, as I don't have webspace at the mo.

The name? Picked back in... hmm... 1995. I did a search (nearly said Google, but Google didn't exist at the time) for "red celt" and it came back with about 4 hits. None of which, in context, were peoples' aliases so I ran with it. I wanted something unique and (at the time) unused. I owned the redcelt.com domain name for a while, but let it lapse. By the time I got around to renewing it, someone else had snaffled it! Damn their eyes, trying to steal my moniker!

Oh, as for why... Red as I'm politically left-of-centre. Never described myself as a communist, although I sympathise with the general idea. In the past I've occasionally been strong-armed in terming myself a socialist, although I don't fully see the difference between communism/socialism. I'm sure there is one, but the terminology seems to be determined by who you ask... so I've stopped applying the label to myself. Not too keen on the whole pigeon-holing people by labels thing. Some of my views might be labelled as libertarian, whilst nearly all of my views can be described as liberal... although not quite all.

It's also the colour of most of my bills.

Celt? (pronounced with a hard "c" not a soft "c") Well, the gene pool that spawned me, statistically speaking, is almost certain to include celtic blood.

The 69, I've gotten into the habit of slapping on the end for 3 reasons:-

1. I've registered with a website and subsequently forgotten my password, or changed email address so can't reclaim the original account.

2. Someone's "stolen" my alias.

3. It was the year in which I was born.
