Okay, i'm worried.
the last post caused me and my boyfriend recoiled in terror with a gasp when we read that.
It's creepy.
Anyway, I don't really know the person that lives next door to me.
And Niall does know me. and I know Niall.
Em, and i was in a lilac dress with curly hair and I was very good at predicting next cards and whether the dealer would win etc.
know me now?

Sorry no, it's not ringing any bells Rrrr. Maybe you were there at the times I wasn't.

Unless you live on the fourth floor and only moved in this semester you can't be next door to me.

Well I think it was a VERY good ball, shame ceilidh finished so early, not hat it was all that early, just that I'd have prefered to do ceilidh than disco. But saying that - the disco was quite cool too, if not a bit heavy on smoke at times! Not I know how everyone feels when you pump tons of smoke into their faces in bop! It's funny when you're doing to others! Sorry, I'll try and be more considerate in future, maybe.

But the ball - I definatelly think I'll go again next year if I can, and it was MUCH better in the Bay than where ever it was before.

I'm glad the ball was a success, a lot, and i mean a lot of work went into it, from just a handful of ppl, myself included. After reading the previous posts, i will speak to the bay about the tap water, because im pretty sure we had asked them to put it on for free in big jugs. I also felt that there were too many ppl there, but that was becasue we had never anticipated that number of ppl wanting to go, and every single ticket had gone, the day before the ball.

The ball next year will be a lot better, even tho this one was great, but this was are first at the bay, and so we were testing out things.

I hope to see you all at the ball next year, at the bay again, but in march this time!

I really did enjoy the ball, and I think for a first untested trial it was smashing, i think now that you know how the energy in the place works, and what it needs, it'll be much better. I think one of the biiig issues was that there were no proper queues. I guess at the ice cream, there wasn't really a possibility as i'm not sure there was enough space, but i really think it's necessary, it was mayhem, and that's not even really an exaggeration. I like a good organised queue, it stops people getting a bit pissed off, which detracts from their overall night. Rolling drinks promotions would be good, as would some free snacks, maybe even a pre-ball dinner for those willing to pay more, tho i guess we get that in the dinner hall. I'm not sure why, but the casino really is the best thing about our balls, i love them.
I thought the staff were really great, when we asked them about when things were on, like the raffle, they really went out of their way to find out.
The bay itself is cracking, much better than rothes hall, if they do the cheap room thing again, i strongly suggest you all take advantage of it!

Yeah, it was a good ball. I went with an old flatmate who is up visiting and we had a great time.

The only fly in the ointment was those drinks prices, which were a little restrictive. Can you not subsidise the bar next time? We in Melville are going to do that this year - and if we can do that with our budget...

I actually didn't buy a single drink all night, now I come to think of it. How expensive were they?

I would have said the casino should have been bigger with more tables and games. But it was still cool/good.

It was really expensive - a round of 3 drinks cost me around 17.50 quid I think.

t'was 2.50 a pint, which was all i bought (except for one vodka and coke, which i think was 2.80)

even £2 a drink would have been good (not union prices, but certainly cheaper than any where else in town!)

WHAT THE HELL DID YOU BUY!?! It wasn't cheap by any means but it wasn't THAT much! You must have got 3 quadrouple vodka & cokes or something!

No, it was only 2 doubles and a triple (one without mixer) i think. Me and my social group don't believe in buying singles...

Even so, 17.50 for that was quite expensive - especially when the Bay knew it was students attending and not a wealthy function group.

3 quadruple vodka & cokes would have cost over £30 at their prices!

SHIT! £10 for a quadrouple vodka and coke! They must have made a bomb! (Metaphorically, cos you can't make an explosive bomb out of coke, maybe vodka suppose)

I had a good night - the ceilidh was great, a really cool band. However, I didn't like the attitude of the guy on the mic. Fair enough, I guess he can stop a dance if he's explained it badly and it's going too wrong to be done got through, but he was a little mouthy and it was a ball crowd - (a) possibly slightly drunk (!) and (b) no "proper" dancers, just there for run. It was a great evening though, the whole thing, and this sounds like I hated the ceilidh, I didn't, it was brilliant. I just found the bloke on the mic funny.
