That article is so far off that I actually found it quite hilarious. She also seems to believe that 'transexualism' is an exclusively male-to-female phenomenon, whereas in my experience (and I've met quite a lot of transgendered persons) it's about 50/50.
I shouldn't take anything Julie Burchill says too seriously, and she wrote it over eight years ago now. God, she also wrote this around the same time:
