Does it take to get from Physics to School III?

Hi again everyone. Good summer?

Too long if you have a class immediately afterwards. If I thought it would make a difference, I'd make a complaint about the lousy choice of venue. Granted, there's a finite number of venues, so I can appreciate that it isn't easy... but the location of a single School of Arts lecture all the way out at North Haugh seriously screwed the rest of my timetable when it came to choosing tutorials.

As for how long it would actually take... I would guess that you'd have to be making a damned good pace to get from North Haugh to the Quad in less than 10mins on foot. Do you have a bike?

Yeah celt is right, its a long walk, at a very fast pace you might make 15-20 minutes. Would also recommend a bike and would certainly be worth mentioning it to the lecturer.

Oh bum, I have to factor in being short, fat, unfit and older than everyone else. It's going to kill me!

Thanks guys.

It takes me about 20 Mins to walk from new hall to younger hall (to walk from new hall to physics is about 10 mins), walking at the fastest speed that I can walk.

Ah, yes. You're definitely screwed. My at-least-10-mins comment was based on you being young and very fit (younger and fitter than me). It would take nearer 20mins for me on foot. 10mins late for every lecture/tutorial that follows one at North Haugh would be acceptable (mostly, they don't start until 5mins after the hour)... 20mins wouldn't.

And I suspect that you aren't older than me. :| Mature student? 777 = July '77?

The title of this thread is deceiving, I was expecting a much more interesting discussion!

Yes, sorry about that CheeseDaddy :D .

RedCelt, I suspect I am older than you. The 777 is me getting one over on the Devil ;) . I may need to rethink my module choice.

It doesn't really matter that much - if you really care about going in late, leave the first ten mins early and then you can be a few mins late for the start of the next. No one wil notice you sneaking in or out of physics if you go in the door upstairs, assuming you're in lecture theatre A. Or, just skip half the classes like everyone else and get what you need from the slides and the textbook ;)

I'll give it a bash and post my time :D . If anyone notices a slightly desperate person sliding into school III gasping for oxygen, give me a wave.

Physics B also has a back door, but it's a bit more obvious when you leave that. I am shocked at how long it takes you all to walk about town though! New Hall to PANDA, 10 minutes!? I could do it in 5 whilst crawling and I'm a fat, lazy git with a dodgy knee.
If you do physics, panic.

You found a parking space in under 8mins?

About ten minutes, give or take. Depends how many slow-walking gits you get trapped behind.

Today I left my car parked in the vicinity of the Physics Dept. I didn't time my walk into town after my lecture as I wasn't heading straight to the quad.

At the end of the day, I left a lecture in School 3 at 3:55pm. I arrived at my car at 4:10pm. I'd guess I was parked about a 2-3minute walk from Lecture Theatre B (which is where I started the day). So that would be between 15-17 or 18mins on foot. Granted, I took a reasonably leisurely pace (I wasn't in a particular hurry)... but against that is the fact that it was downhill the whole way.

Again, I'm not as young and fit as most... however, I would still say that under 10mins would be unrealistic; short of a jogging pace. Uphill.

If anyone still cares. <_<
