"Think of words ending in -gry. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everybody uses everyday. If you have listened carefully , I've already told you what it is."

The answer of course being "language".

Feel free to think of words ending in gry, or dont, whatever. But there are 3 words in the english language:
1. The
2. English
3. Language

language being the 3rd.

I remember hearing this before and I think the answer was something abstract like love. Although why is love in a hole? It ought to be something like air/nothing, but then you could have an empty bowl and it would be full of nothing.

found a good answer for how a raven and a writing desk are alike-- because poe wrote on both.

courtesy of The Eyre Affair, by Jasper Fforde, which is a hilarious book that everyone should read.

A few quick, simple ones:

1. I can carry the weight of a full grown man, but a mere child can carry me.

2. But for my head I should be complete, but the more you take away the bigger I become.

3. I am the brother of fire, that brings tears without sorrow.

4. We are soliders, armoured in black. We are hundreds strong. We march through your streets, claiming the very ground you walk on as our own. But still you do not fear us.

5. A conundrum fit to puzzle a primate. The remains of a bonfire. A sweet green fruit. An unwell lover if you enjoy puns. You forget our names, yet all but one of us remain as sweet. What are we?
I probably don't like you, but don't take it personally. Nobody likes you.
