A man stood looking through a window on the 6th floor of an office block. Suddenly he opened the window and leapt through it. It was a sheer drop outside the window to the ground. The man didn't have a parachute, or land on any special soft surface, or anything like that. He wasn't hurt - explain.

Did he jump into the building from outside?

OK, this isn't really a logic problem, but it'll do: who is an anagram of Presbyterians?

as for presbyterianism, i have no idea. can you at least tell us how the two words are split?

It is possible to construct a sentence in which the word 'and' appears five times, consecutively - ie. with no other words in between the 'ands'. This sentence is perfectly grammatically correct. Can anyone give the sentence? Again, no tricks.

"The space between ‘Bush’ and ‘and’ and ‘and’ and 'Blair' was very small.”

...is a sentence describing another sentence which fits the bill. Another example of five consecutive words is:

"The tutor said that that “that” that that student wrote in the fourth line of his essay was wrong.”

Mother and child.

The gaps between mother and and and and and child are identical.

Well done! The way it was first described to me, included a story of a sign-painter who, when creating a new sign for the 'Cat and Fiddle' pub, had not allowed enough space between 'Cat' and 'and', and 'and' and 'Fiddle' :)

Aww - answering the easy way, without actually saying who ... Ford, Carter, Regan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II (the revenge).
