moodle is an online learning environment - some lecturers may use it for simply dumping lecture presentations into, or use it for discussion, quizzes, or links to online resources to supplement the course materials.
Around 2/3rds of the Schools at the University use MMS, and it's likely that eventually all online materials will be via MMS in the future. So, if your course co-ordinators are using MMS, disregard moodle!
