Photos: digital to physical

Postby rae on Sun Jun 22, 2003 8:28 pm

Anyone who can tell me the cheapest/bestest way to get photos from the pictures I have on my laptop? I have loads of them, and no printer access, so I need to get them done somewhere. Ian Joy does prints from CD but I think it's likely very expensive. Anyone got better ideas?

I think you can get them done at the back of boots whilst you wait. I don't know how much it is though

some online photo storing things (well hp at least) do a service where you upload them, choose the option then they send you the physical photos. not sure how expensive it is, but at least an easily checkable option.

i have a decent printer, so if you either want to save them to disk, or email, then you can come over here and print them out if you like, and give me something towards paper/ink. let me know :)

Boots do prints for 15p each for 41 or more photos (1 day service). Just make sure that your photos are 6" x 4" or else they will cut them down to size.

All you have to do is take them in on the camera chip and they'll copy the files and give you it back.

My local boots didn't manage to read a 128MB SM card so I had to move the files to a 32MB one which they could read.

I have the same problem..Loads of pictures that i want printed. Is boots able to print them out only from a smart media card or do they accept CD's also? It would be much easier for me,since i "share" my digital camera, and do not always have access to it and it's SM card!

Digi photos

Postby LG82 on Mon Jun 23, 2003 4:04 pm

If they are just stored on a computer and you don't have the digital camera stuff, you can go to the Boots website and download their viewer, upload your photos and complete an online order, i think its about 30p/photo + £1.50ish postage. I did it a while back from photos my dad emailed me off his digi cam and they turned out great!

Jessops offer the best service that I know in this area. CD's, all cards, anything really.
Check it out at www.jessops.co.uk

dunno about Boots and CDs. Don't see why not though. When you take in a chip, you have to get all the photos on it developed, so it'd probably be the same for a CD.

When Boots did mine all the pictures came up on the screen and I was able to choose which ones I wanted. Didn't have to get them all printed. For less than 20 (or it might be 10) prints ordered at once each print is 40p, and it gets cheaper the more prints you order at a time.
