While I think events for charity are great, why does the union persist in getting cheap manufactured rubbish in order to raise money.........
Hi SiouxieSioux. I'm sorry to hear that Ibiza Foam Parties aren't your idea of fun. I'd just like to raise a few points.
The Ibiza Foam Party is organised by the University Charities Campaign, all proceeds will go to help the Breast Cancer Campaign. Generally, we find that these are really popular nights and give people the opportunity to raise lots and lots of money for charity, whilst having a bloody good time.
However, it is only one event out of many this year. On the 4th November, Charities are also helping to organise a huge band night, in aid of Marrow, a student organisation tied to the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
Later on in the year we have an entire week of events in RagWeek.
We try as best we can to provide a variety of events which at the same time appeal to lots of people. But in the end there is a limit to the number of ideas that we can come up with. Why not come along to one of our meetings and give us some more ideas?? They are every monday at 7:30pm in the Union Committee room. Anyone is welcome to turn up and contribute.
Hope if you do decide to go on saturday, you have a great time.
