Does anyone know anything about this? And is anyone here going?

Well, I'm certainly going, but that's not much of a surprise! Yes, indeed, it's on Wednesday evening, beginning at 8 PM sharp, in Parliament Hall, St. Mary's College, South Street, St. Andrews. From roughly 7:30 we'll be hosting a drinks reception in the foyer of the Psychology Department.

The motion is "This House Has No Confidence in Her Majesty's Government", and will feature this year Alex Johnstone MSP, Conservative, North East Scotland; Dr. Frank Riddell, Provost of St. Leonard's College and former leader of Stirlingshire Council; and for the first time ever the Presidents of the University's Conservative and Unionist Association and Labour Club will go head-to-head in a Parliamentary Debate.

I think that I might turn up as well.

I have also been lead to believe that Colin Campbell-Jones will be speaking.

Mr Campbell-Jones is an excellent speaker, and it is well worth the entrance fee for him alone.

And, if I may also commend the dinner that is taking place afterwards. I am not sure if it is still possible to get a place at the table, but if it is, you should definitely try.

Is LPH strictu sensu in St. Mary's College, David? I assumed it wasn't, but I may be incorrect.

I don't know, but it's certainly accessible from inside the Quad (through the Divinity library). It certainly helps as a point of reference, anyway.

Having compiled the Order Papers last night, I can confirm that the speakers and their positions at the table will be;

For the Proposition;

Alex Johnstone, MSP

Stuart Paterson- Pres. Con and Unionists

Dr. Frank Riddell- Provost of St. Leonard's

For the Opposition;

Mr. Colin Cavendish- Jones

Ben Reilly- President of the Labour Club

Mr. Eliot Wilson

I would advise anyone interested in coming along to the dinner tonight to contact the lovely Miss. Phoebe Stoves, Steward to the House before this evening on pgs4 or on ext. 4093.
Those wishing to acquire a ticket at Parliament Hall tonight may be unlucky, as after numbers are confirmed to the Rusacks today, there will only be three golden tickets on sale, as that is all the extra meals that they can manage without notice.
Speakers will recieve free meals, courtesy of the society.

Excellent fun; For one of the first times in the history of the society, the motion fell, a victory for Messrs. Cavendish- Jones, Reilly and Wilson. Congratulations, and thanks to all who made the after debate dinner and other shananigans such a pleasure.

A delightful night was had by all, or so I believe, and I did learn some delightful new songs.

But I would like to apologise for my mistakes, but I do feel slightly invigorated now that I have lost my LPH virginity.
