has a quiz that asks you about your opinions on certain election issues, then works out which candiate most matches your ideas.

mine are below. i'm a bit surprised that i'm a really good match for a socialist, but i assume that it's because it has an american perspective. if they were asking the questions about britain it might come out differently

My Results:

1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%)

2. Moseley-Braun, Former Senator Carol, IL - Democrat (90%)

3. Socialist Candidate (86%)

4. Clark, Retired General Wesley K., AR - Democrat (84%)

5. Dean, Gov. Howard, VT - Democrat (83%)

12. Lieberman, Senator Joe, CT - Democrat (36%)

13. Libertarian Candidate (28%)

15. Bush, President George W. - Republican (1%)

happy electing

Its all about retired General Wesley Clark!

He even has the backing of Michael Moore (and Madonna but thats hardly going to impress.)

Added to that i saw an interview and he seemed like a nice, clever guy. (opposite of what there is at the moment)

Ideal candidate 99%
Green 85%

Disappointed Bush was a whole four places of the bottom of my list - maybe it could be worse after all!

hmm, i still remain skeptical about Dean- he seems wishy washy and looks like he has the potential to be more impulsive than Bush.

Looks like this registered Republican is leaning towards the Democrats in this election. But we'll have to wait and see whom the Democrats pick as their nominee before I decide whether I will break from the party line.

On another note: My fellow Americans, how can one register to vote absentee from outside of the country? (I was in the country the last time I absenteed and just went down to my Town Hall, but what if I might not go back to the States this summer?)

Bonnie -

I just got my voting card the last time I was at home and there's a bit on the side that I took with me that has info for absentee ballots:

1. You may apply by mail or telephone starting 90 days before elections.
2. Ballots are available 20 days before elections.
3. If you wish ongoing status call the number for your state (I only have the Washington one). If you are currently an ongoing absentee voter do not reapply.

As I figure it you just call up, apply, and it lasts for one year. After that its back to the original place where they assigned you to vote.
Hope this helps!
If at first you don't succeed, sky diving is definately not for you!

Hmmm, a bit strange, top one's still 26% off... Oh well, Dubya's at the bottom of the list, which is good...

Seems odd that Clark- the democrat who I'd probably support the most - beat out Sharpton (eh?) and Kerry (the stone face) as well as others I haven't heard about. And no Bush for me - I think I'll indulge in a third party vote.
