Yes, it's back!

The first presentation was tonight, in AMH. They will be in other halls during the week, and now is the time to get teams (or 12 or more, up from 10 last year) together. Signup will be on the top floor of the union on March 6th.

The main aim of the presentations in halls is to let those who weren't here last year find out about it. As you already know what it's all about, all you need to do is show up on March 6th!

What is imovie? I've never heard of it before. Could someone enlighten my uninformed mind?

iMovieFest (AKA CampusMovieFest) is an opportunity for groups of students to make a movie on any topic they like and show it off to the rest of the student body. Each group gets trained how to use a digital camera and the software (which is called iMovie, funnily enough) and then gets given a camera. computer and one week in which to film and edit their productions. The best then get shown in Younger Hall, to an audience of hundreds, with (last year) prizes ranging from cash to breakfast with the Rector; from a flying lesson to a round of golf with the president of the R & A. There are also spot prizes that all that take part and attend the presentation are eligible for. Last year those included a laptop.

"Tom's Diary" rules ya bass. I must have seen that film twenty times and it still makes me laugh. Brilliant fun.

And at the other end there was AA01 which was absolutely stunning. And "Denizens of Swing" that was so tongue in cheek, it practically dislocated its own jaw.

Overall what was mind blowing was that iMovie itself caught the imagination of something like 1500 people who took time out to put together an amazing array of ideas and then carry them out.

You shoudl have seen him filming it!! He never actually went out intentionally to make a diary...although you can probably sense that, he was just having fun with a camera for a week, it was so funny/annoying watching him do it! Certainly remember asking him 6 hours before the deadline how it was coming on and he just sighed and shook his head...lol...oh yeah and his girlfriend refusing to do the 'porn scene' was hilarious!!!
