Lost Matric Card

Postby Miss Maryland on Sat May 15, 2004 10:42 pm

My wallet was stolen in Edinburgh on Tuesday, and my Matriculation card was in it. How am I supposed to get a replacement, and is it possible to do so before exams? I have one on tuesday.

[hr]...and there was much rejoicing.

79 north street monday morning push the ihntercom on your left they will buzz ytou in. They can sort it for you but new matric cards cost £10. Though if it was stolen I'm not sure if they will charge.

unfortunately they do charge!! evil people that they are!! (although the office staff do NOT have to pay for a new card if it is stolen!! evil!!)
I got my bag stolen in December and had to go through all of that malarky!
Make sure you go into the cash office first though and say u are paying for a new matric card and pay (£10), then go to the office and give them your receipt and you will get it the next day if they are in a good mood!
Sorry you got your wallet stolen! it's horrible when it happens!! hope there wasnt a lot of money in it! :)

as far as i'm aware, if you have proof of its theft, ie a crime number or summat, you dont have to pay.

How unfair is this- I get a new one for free because my end date has changed, but if your card is stolen they charge you £10 for new one. If staff lose their card, they get a replacement free. So it's only students that have to pay. That is SO cheeky.

You don't have to pay if you reported the theft to the police. Otherwise for all they know everyone who lost their matric card would just say it was nicked.
