Saturday morning

Postby tintin on Sat May 22, 2004 1:01 pm

Is my favourite day of the week. This is what it's about:

1. a lie in after a long week
2. a bacon and egg roll, coffee and orange juice
3. the Guardian Weekend
4. leisurely stroll to the shops
5. lunch
6. a brief few hours in the Library.
7. a drink in the evening

What do you do?

Went for a run at 4:15am, while I was hungover. Nice sunrise.

up early to revise, then babysit, the revise, then not revise and mess around on the internet, then go to work at 4, til midnight.

saturdays are a weekday in my life - my weekend consists of sundays and mondays :)

1. Get out of bed
2. Listen to Radio 2 in the shower
3. Have breakfast, with a pot of tea
4. Have another pot of tea for good measure
5. Go out to Good News and get The Times, and maybe the Telegraph too (depends how leisurely I want to be)
6. Read papers with a pot of tea
7. Go out to sailing team training
8. Come back, and wash salty water off my body, and hang wetsuit in the shower
9. Go out to play football

Doesn't get any better than that, ladies and gents.

Saturday morning is not a time to be wasted by sleeping. Do that and you miss the beauty of it. A long lie is only satisying if you are awake for it and aware of the cosiness of your bed. My Saturday mornings nearly always consist of the following:

Breakfast between 9-9.30
A chat with my Mum and Dad on the phone
A chat with Ewan on the phone or even better, in person:)
A check of the emails
A lovely long hot soak in the bath with some extravagant Lush bubble bubble bar or bath bomb while I lie back and reflect on the week that's been, or think about what I have to do.
Also planning whether or not to go out and who with etc....
Seeing Ewan, either by him coming in to town or me going out to his place.

Saturdays are definitely great:)

For years, my Saturday mornings would start at 6am, when I would get up and walk my dog, have breakfast, then cycle 2 miles into the nearest town, get on the bus to my local stables at 7:27, arrive in the nearest village at 7:45, walk the mile to the stableyard, and be there in time to bring horses in for 8am. Cups of tea with co-stableworkers, then grooming/feeding of 11 horses, and they were all ready for the public by 10am. A full day's stable work followed, and I finished at 4:30, and did the whole morning process in reverse.

I wish I was as fit now as I was then!

Apparetly I have exams on Saturdays. This is in fact what I do. Well today anyway. Next week I will be asleep or on the beach or both.

Also it is now Sunday, oh joy - day of earning money to fund Saturdays.
