Songs to cheer you up...

Postby Guest on Mon May 24, 2004 12:38 pm

Hey, thought I'd start this thread to help get over exams.

Which song always cheers you up, no matter what mood you're in?

Mine has to be 'Higher and Higher'by Jackie Wilson :D

Off the top of my head:

Jamie Cullum - These are the Days
Santana - (Da Le) Yaleo <- This one rocks
...and...yes...it can make some cringe for being overplayed...but...
Outkast - Hey Ya

Nelly Furtado - "Turn off the Light"

I only recently realised the lyrics aren't actually very cheerful, but I find the bounce of tune of the song so uplifting and vibrant and happy, it never fails to put in in a bright, merry mood.

that would be Derek and the Dominoes i think.

Most songs by Iron Maiden work for me, especially Aces High or Wasted Years at the moment.

Good taste there, otsegolectric!

I've just discovered Stratovarius - Hunting High and Low, which is immensely happy. Been humming it all day.

Good choice - i downloaded it and now i love it too.

My picks for happy songs would be
Murder on the dancefloor by Sophie Ellis Bextor,
Growing on me by the Darkness,
Disco Down by Shed Seven and
Hanging around the day part 2 by the Polyponhic Spree.
possibly a mention for The Lifting by R.E.M., but that has a lot to do with what it means to me as well as its musical content.
