Sorry to break this news but I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to do a resit if you get under a 3,although I may be wrong? By the way, first year psychology is definitely not a "doddle", ok so the exam is all mcqs but they are incredibly tricky and you really need to know your stuff to do really well. From my experience of it you have to do quite a lot of work for the exam in comparison to other first year subjects to simply pass! Unless you are incredibly lucky and mark the correct boxes without having a clue of the right answers!...
Heh, I did first year psych and got 14 in first semester and 13 in second semester. I went to 4 lectures the whole year and did no work for the exam. It is a doddle!

Hmm, looks like it actually varies from school to school.
Think its only in the arts subjects that you have to get over a 3 because in some of them you don't need a certain grade in your practical work. Subjects that can be arts but have practical work that needs a required grade are not usually subject to that rule.
