So who do you think will be the character to come out of the cupboard? Smithers would seem to be blindingly obvious, and it's hardly a secret. Patty and Selma are possible, but then I'm fairly sure they were in a gay pride parade in one episode. At the moment I'm thing it will be groundskeeper Willy.

Smithers. It's never actually been stated that he is gay (although its blindingly obvious) so they might as well confirm it.

No character in the Simpsons has changed that much since they were introduced (apart from Sideshow Bob) so I can't see them doing much now.

Yeah, it was a fair while ago amac. That's why the internet is the only source for TV.

Lisa is a good bet (realistically) Anon but my prophet sense says, no - that would be too much of an upheaval. Besides, she's too young and also they said long time cast member not central character.

Selma and Smithers... well, I'd be disappointed if they said Smithers was gay - just because it's the writing on the wall and would be an anti-climax.
