Is it just me or are we the only university that doesn't know what's happening during Freshers week!? I posted a while back asking what band would be playing...and still no one knows.

He could tell you - but he'd have to kill you, so incredibly secret is the information. LIVES ARE AT STAKE!

This is blooming ridiculous. At this rate it would serve them right if everyone just spent freshers week in all the other pubs rather than the union anyway.

Looks like that will be my plan for sure.

Bonnie will announce the line up when its ready, stop being so dam childish about the line up being released... the Strathclyde FW line up hasnt fully been announced yet (there is NOTHING up about the FW lineup in their union) and its the same week as St andrews.

Is this another polite statement from the union, surely not.

Word of advice, don't insult your own punters.

well technically Niall is only a student, as he is not employed by the union, as am i, so really we can only express our opinion, and if he chooses to express it in that way thats up to him, what he says should not be labeled as coming from the Union, but as his personal view.

Slightly more than not being employed by the union, he's not actually a st-andrews student (anymore)

So we can all understand the point of people thinking its unfair we dont know anything about freshers week when someone who isnt even a student at st andrews seems to know more about the line up for freshers week than any of the students who actually go to uni here do.

Then perhaps he shouldn't act that way and then no one would get confused. I highly doubt anyone thinks the ents people run the union rather than them just thinking they do.

Honestly, why all the defensiveness? It's perfectly reasonable to want to know why the union is so far behind and won't even explain itself or the delay.

Why the impatience? I am sure that when everything is finalised the programme for the week will be announced.

This year's Orientation line up has not yet been finalised (one of the major acts has withdrawn from the contract today), and we'd rather release the entire program in one go, rather than just bits and bobs.

When the Students' Association website is updated (soon!), there will be all the information about Orientation, and an explanation of exactly how the Association runs.
There will also be a details of the people who help run the union, and all the officers involved (and how to get in touch with us).

Sorry if it seems as though we're keeping you in the dark - that's not our intention at all!

This year, we will aim to make ourselves as open as possible - we'll try to put as much info about what we're doing on the website as we can, and as always, everyone is welcome to come into the union and have a chat with us (middle floor of the union). You may even get a cup of tea!

The impatience is simply because the announcement was promised a while ago now and it never came, with no explanation since.

Had that not happened people wouldn't be quite so peeved off about it.
