Short Version, someone else can put tabs up later if they feel the need! In short an outstanding weekend for all!
GUU Ancients
Final
1P KIDS OF EVIL (Cochran and Grieve)
1O Oxford A (Illsley and Jones)
2P Cambridge A (Devlin and Lintner)
2O Durham A (Chapman and Sid!)
Motion
THB Britain should pay reparations to its former colonies.
Judging were Derek Lande (CA and Chair), Niall Kennedy, Kenny Fleming, Alex Ward, John Duncan, Ailsa Lynch, and Kirsty Russell.
The final was won by Durham.
Despite refusing a 'dance-off' Doug Cochran was top of the Speaker Tab (He was joint top with Gavin, but because of some statisitcal thing he gets the acclaim!)
Strathclyde
1P Guantanamo A (Lande and Kennedy)
1O Edinburgh A (Ross and Buckley)
2P UCD Law (O'Neill and Clarke)
2O Oxford A (Jones and Tim (can't remember surname!)
Motion was TH prefers the Thistle to the Rose - Niall K ran Scottish Independence!
Final panal were all random strathclyders who I can't remember. Edinburgh took the win, although God only knows how! Will Jones was best speaker in the Final! And in the 2am drunk debate!
Edinburgh (aka the hair of the dog iv!)
1P Oxford (Will and Tim)
1O GUU C (Anderson and partner - wasn't listening!)
2P KIDS OF EVIL (Connie and Doug)
2O HEARTLESS BASTARDS SWANSONG (John and Jason)
Motion was THW provide Heroin on the NHS to give addicts their fix, or something similar.
Judges
Kirsty Russell (chair), Jenni Harrison, Niall Kennedy, Barney Ross, Megan Shute, Adam McKinley!
Winning their (probably) last IV together were the heartless bastards. Jason was the best speaker in the final, and the adjudication seemed to take all of three minutes!
So three teams and two judges breaks at the Central belt weekend. Congratulations to John and Jason for being awesome last night, and only awe can express the ability of Connie, Doug and Kizzy in managing to do 13 debates in three days!
Right, off to find a small lake of Irn Bru and a supply of asprin, its been a long three days!
