New Convenor and President

Postby Laura on Sat Mar 18, 2006 9:04 am

Congratulations to Racheal Whitbread, who is your new Convenor and President having been elected SSC Debates Officer last night.

It is a great relief to be retiring from the position, and I look forward to seeing Racheal and the new Board of Ten (which will be elected at the AGM on Wednesday) injecting some new blood into the society!

Thanks to all who have been supportive of my term and been to the debates- I hope to see you all for my swan song on Wednesday night (7.30 for 8pm, LPH)

Laura

Congratulations, Ms Whitbread.

When is the AGM on Wednesday? Just in case I'm recovered sufficiently to be there.

Also, could someone post the numbers?

Well done Rachael, Bryn, Jamie and Jules. I think it's a very healthy sign for the society that this was one of the most strongly contested positions in this election. I look forward to the program of debates coming up after the holidays and next year.

Thank you, Mr Watson, for seeing that I wrote "When is the AGM on Wednesday?" and not "When is the AGM? On Wednesday?"

Well, at least the thought was there on Dickie's part, if not the grasp of English. As for the location, you got me there.

I was planning to run for Serjeant-at-arms, though I won't be able to turn up until 1 p.m. due to a tutorial. Does this mean I am out of the runnings, or could things be re-arranged somewhat?

I turned up to an AGM to seek election to the post of Serjeant-at-Arms at least an hour late once, and plastered to boot. Someone later told me that I only lost by about four votes.

That should be fine, make sure you put in your nomination by the deadline on tuesday. The previous Board have to deliever their reports so the actual elections and hecklings etc wont start till later so if you dont leave it to long then you should be fine. If you have any questions ask at the general office.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your messages of congratulations and well-wishing. I am really looking forward to leading the UDS in the next year, and implimenting the policies that I have been given a mandate for.

May I take this opportunity to publically thank my entire campaign team for their amazing support and strength during election week. I mean it, your support meant an awful lot.

Also may I publically thank Bryn, Jules and Jamie for a fair and highly enjoyable campaign, and I look forward to working with each of you in the coming year to make sure that 2006-7 is truly successful year for the UDS.

See all of you at the AGM on Wednesday afternoon!

Rachael
