Motion? Date?

Because you never know when evil old bastards might pop out of the woodwork.

They'll do that. With distressing, I suspect, regularity, rising from the Board benches like Banquo's ghost.

Then furnishing us with a date and motion would be splendidly helpful.

If we don't tell you, it means we'll have the pleasure of your company for even longer as you'll have to stay around for the entire freshers week.

Do you think I have that kind of time?

Oh, wait, actually I do. Recess time is upon us.

I'm sorry but I dont know the date and time and motion. But I shall facebook Rachel and make her aware of this thred. Though I dont think she is at home at the moment. Any way I shall give it a go.

See you all in September. I cant wait. Does any one know of a time device that can make the vacation shorter and term time longer?

A combination of an interesting job and a tedious degree ought to do the trick.

My apologies for not posting sooner, I'm currently travelling in Italy so am unable to access the internet as often as I'd like. I have contacted the Communications Secretary, and a full Term Card for September-December 2006 will shortly be posted on the Society website, which can be viewed at www.st-andrews.ac.uk/~debates, with details of speakers etc. being updated in due course.

However for the sake of quick reference, the details for the Orientation Week debate, the first of the new academic year, are as follows:

Date: Wednesday 20th September 2006

Time: Doors open 7:30pm, debate will begin at 8:00pm

Location: Lower Parliament Hall, South Street (where else?!)

Motion: 'This house believes that a woman's place is in the home'

On a final note, it would indeed be a pleasure to welcome you all there, not only new students, continuing students and familiar faces, but also alumni and past members of the UDS: it would be wonderful to welcome you back, and I look forward to possibly meeting you in September.

Rachael.

I think I might fly up for the occasion as well. This is largely contigent on me being arsed, of course.

That's quite some sacrifice just to get a place to stay.

I suggest a black brocaded silk gown with long closed sleeves and square collar trimmed with gold lace and gold frogs.

Can't see anyone else coming in one of those.
