Where exactly are we heading once in Edinburgh? Guess we need an address for the taxi?

So are Jason and Doug going to make a team? Steady on, guys. I don't want my view of the speakers next Friday to be entirely obscured by silveraware. ;)

Connie's the one who's actually been winning stuff (though apparently the trend is now to let the winners get photographed with the trophy, an inadequate substitute), so no real risk of an obscured view from her weekend's raid on TCD.

I think the tentative plan is that Jason and I will speak together at Edinburgh, but speak with different partners for Strathclyde. A lot depends on who shows up, though!

Cheers,
-Doug

You mean, they're not letting people take the trophies back with them? That's an outrage! Has somebody raised this at SSDC?

Well, no, because largely it's the business of any given debating society what does and does not happen to their trophy. The Marquess trophy has long been a roaming one now, and never fails to find its way home for each successive tournament!

I have just been told that Jason and Doug won the Edinburgh IV! It just seems that 2007 keeps on getting better and better for the UDS. Well done guys!

Cheers for the shout, Tom. We won from 1st Prop on giving Catholic adoption agencies the right to turn down gay couples. Jason was the best speaker in the final (by a long way), dragging my poor self through kicking and screaming.

We also received a wee trophy, as well, ours for a year (unless St. Andrews wins it back!).

Also, Miles and Rebecca had a very good showing, obtaining either seven or eight team points over four rounds, an excellent showing.

Thanks also to our judges and apologies for poor directions on my part(this is why Connie usually arranges transport!)

Cheers,
-Doug

That's absolutely brilliant - see you have moved up Jonathan LM's rankings to an even more convincing 3rd place, 100 points clear of the next tranche. Gaudeamus!

Moderator edit - I'm just going to goahead and delete anything you post like that in future.

This post was deleted because of it's sniping nature against an individual which didn't contribute to the thread and was a personal attack. This won't be tolerated either by Unknown or it;s unregisterd alter-ego.
