Can I be the first to raise my concerns about the lack (or current lack, as there's a TBC) of a Parliamentary Debate?

Is this just holding back until speakers are confirmed before announcing it (if you still need a Tory, I can probably get an MP if you give me a little notice) - or some more good old tradition eradication?

Also, the SubTV ads on the pornography motion - when is this re-scheduled for? Or is it not?

Unfortuantely due to our late return this year and the start of the parliamentary session on the Monday of week two, all the MP's who were approached for this debate were unable to attend. I have spent a lot of the summer contacting both individuals and the major political parties in an attempt to find speakers at all levels of the parliamentary system to no avail. Therefore, rather than run a sub standard Parliamentary this semester, we will aim to hold it in second semster.

The Scottish Independence Debate will be followed by the usual parliamentary dinner etc and we have already confirmed a large number of MSPs. I am sure this will make up for the removal of the Parliamentary from this semseters termcard.

Thanks Becca, and also thanks for the concerns above.

The Union screens are having a bit of a hitch at the moment and the porn debate screens are unable to be lifted. Luckily, the culture debate is also being advertised on them, and BOTH screens tell people to go to the debate at the correct time and place, so hopefully they'll all turn up anyway.

Glitch beyond our control unfortunately. BUUUT... all the other screens are ready to air all semester at the correct times with the correct motions. Hurrah!
