Real Ale AGM - Tuesday 22nd April

Hi it's Manson here, thought it was time for a name-change...

The Real Ale Society's Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday the 20th of April.

It will take place in the back room of the Whey Pat Tavern, which is booked from 8:30pm onwards. The meeting itself will start arund 9pm.

There will be sandwiches for everyone.

All members of the society should attend - we need 1/5 of the members to achieve quorum for the meeting, this is about 25 people. So turn up. Please.

The main purpose of the AGM is to elect a new committee. Due to the motion just passed by the SRC, there will be no Vice-President post next year. The committee will consist of:

President (or Chairman) - The bloke in charge. Chairs the committee meetings, dishes out orders. Can sit on the Societies' Committee. Gets blamed for everything.

Secretary (or Record Keeper) - Writes everything down. Keeps the minutes in order.

Treasurer - Holds on to the chequebook, keeps the accounts in order, does NOT embezzle.

Charities Officer - Quite open - organises all charity-related events. In the past this has included brewing a Rag Ale for Rag week, and getting pubs to stock it.

Publicity Officer - Keeps the website updated, puts out posters.

Ordinary Member - Helps the rest of the committee with everything.

If you would like to stand for any of these positions, it helps if you can mention this in advance, by posting here or emailing the society (sauras@st-and.ac.uk).

Please please please come to the AGM. Please.

Sorry to be such an annoying 'record keeper' (bloody pc people goddamn them)... but Tuesday the 22nd April isn't happening this year?

You mean Tuesday 20th or Thursday 22nd?

EDIT: Also VP is not on the exec anymore, but doesn't prevent us from having one... in the same way we have a charities officer and others. Do we want to lose our top dogsbody?

Oh well at least it says April. I'm getting better.
